Diane Cornman-Levy MS, PT
Diane Cornman-Levy is the Executive Director for the Greater Philadelphia Federation of Settlements which is a 100 year old city wide nonprofit organization that helps 15 affiliate nonprofit agencies to build stronger neighborhoods by strengthening families and civic life. Before working at the Federation she was the Founder and Executive Director of Journey Home, a nonprofit organization with a firm commitment to nurture human potential and break the cycle of poverty. She has an expertise in community health, program development, teaching methodologies, educational theories, and the function/structure of non-profit organizations. For the past 16 years, Ms Cornman-Levy has focused on teaching life skills and character strengths to underserved populations. She has held various professional positions including physical therapist, manager, teacher, healthcare consultant, community activist, and now Executive Director of Journey Home where she has promoted the values of service learning. In each of these positions, she has challenged the status quo through improving existing programs and methods or developing new programs. Her efforts have culminated in the creation of three innovative community health-training programs for health professional students, the creation of a new community center in Philadelphia, development of teen entrepreneurship incubation centers and she is presently launching a high school for inner city teens. Ms. Cornman-Levy received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Brown University and a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy at Northwestern University.
