About Parent Empower Program

Last updated May, 15, 2008

The Parent Empower Program in collaboration with DHS was created to encourage, support and teach parents who are willing and in need of parental guidance in child rearing. The PEP program seeks to guide the parent by having certified facilitators that spear head adult style group discussions, role plays, and other interactions on a ten week basis. Court ordered parents are also referred to PEP. Parents receive a certificate and a monetary stipend upon completing the program. There are four curriculums used – Community Outreach through Parent Empowerment (COPE), Parent Project for ages 10-22, Loving Solutions for ages birth to 10, and Dr. Daniel Lee’s curriculum for Fathers Only.
