Diane Cornman-Levy

Diane Cornman-Levy is a leader, teacher and innovator. Before working at the Federation she was the Founder and Executive Director of Journey Home, a nonprofit

organization with a firm commitment to nurture human potential and break the cycle of poverty. She has an expertise in community health, program development, teaching methodologies, educational theories, and the function/structure of non-profit organizations. For the past 16 years, Ms Cornman-Levy has focused on teaching life skills and character strengths to underserved populations.

Our Mission

The Greater Philadelphia Federation of Settlements is committed to being a major force in the development of healthy, safe, thriving neighborhoods and communities through creative, results-driven practices.   As an umbrella organization, we achieve these results by creating high quality capacity building opportunities for our network of community-building organizations.  As a leader and innovator, we develop pioneering models which can be used both locally and nationally to achieve results. GPFS strengthens and empowers families and neighborhoods through:
  • Providing high standards of care for our affiliates through professional, financial, and program development
  • Serving as a focal point for problem solving, training, collegial support, and collaboration
  • Determining and disseminating best practices in the area of neighborhood development and community building
  • Serving as an incubator for creative new approaches
  • Being a leading force that shapes public policy in neighborhood development
