Many people know that Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter is trying to get more than 10,000 volunteers for a citywide cleanup. He is partnering with religious institutions, area businesses, schools and various organizations for the Philly Spring Cleanup. What most people don't know, is that his first clean-up was with the Greater Philadelphia Federation of Settlements, at its urban farm at 8th and Poplar about a year ago when he was still running for office. We helped organize about 50 volunteers who cleaned up four city blocks around |
the urban farm. It was a beautiful event where concerned citizens helped their city. We continue to support Mayor Nutter's clean-up efforts. As the Mayor says, "Let's get Philly clean, let's clean it up and love where you live," Nutter said.
Please take an active role in supporting Michael Nutter's initiative to improve our city by signing up for the Spring Cleanup at www.phillycleanup.com/
