History
Frankford Group Ministry is a community-based neighborhood center that provides human services and community organizing. It was founded in 1979 when four United Methodist churches recognized that their community in northeast Philadelphia needed bold leadership to address growing poverty, declining resources, and increasing racial/ethnic diverity in their neighborhood. Members of the four congregations knew that individually they might have little impact' but together, their message and mission could be delivered proactively. Frankford Group Ministry was formed and forged ahead with a new and dynamic approach to serving the community.
